Iβve always loved Nse Ikpe-Etim. Her ability to interpret roles shines effortlessly amidst the continued prayers for Nollywoodβs soul that it might finally figure out how to consistently churn out great screenplays and characters.
βNse no dey disappointβ has become a personal mantra of mine over the years, knowing that no matter how bad the whole of a movie is, Nseβs performance could always be trusted to be its one redeeming quality. My admiration for the actress has only grown as more people continue to recognize her star power and the incredible talent packed behind the facade of that slender figure.
A random Instagram surfing session recently set me on the path of remembrance as I saw a comment by user @rm_mikail accusing Nse Ikpe-Etim of not being versatile enough to be considered great.
A wise man once said that βopinions are like arseholes- everybody has one, and they all stink.β And so while all opinions are offered freely, not all are exactly valid. Some, like this one need to be thrown into a dark room, locked up, and the key swallowed by a baby dragon.
As the youngies now say, Nse Ikpe-Etim is mother; so we must go on a trip to remind ourselves how she became the mother that mothered their mother citing some of her most iconic and versatile roles.
This is clearly an Nse Ikpe-Etim stan post. Enjoy the video below.
